The meaning of skid lid is as follows: crash helmet. This is a helmet that is worn by people that ride either motorcycles or bicycles. There is padding built in on these helmets to give true safety to the head. As far as what the makers of helmets call s a skid lid though they are found in the shorty group of helmets.
There is an ongoing dispute going on as far as whether motorcyclists should be required to wear helmets. Some bikers say they should be able to pick whether or not they want to take the risk and wear helmets. Other bikers do no dispute this fact and would much rather have the extra protection for their heads in case of an accident. We only have the one brain to keep us thinking so we best make sure it stays in tact.

One can feel closer to nature on a bike with nothing dividing them from the open air and sounds of the outdoors. A feeling of freedom comes across some as they go down the roads of America and other countries. The know that the wind is whirling around them and sometimes blowing in their faces which their open face motorcycle helmets allow it to do.
