You need the right equipment to turn animal fats or plant oils into biodiesel. Biodiesel can be used in homes, farms, and cars. Different sets of equipment are required depending on how much fuel you want to produce.
If a person wants to produce only a small amount of biodiesel, then a simple equipment set can be used. This equipment can be bought individually from retailers. A simpler way to obtain these things is through buying biodiesel kits from dealers. Many of these kits are available online.
The process of purifying animal fats or oils to make biodiesel is called transesterification. Plant oils are the easiest to make biodiesel. You can use plant oils from corn, rapeseed, palm, sunflower, peanut, soybean or canola.
You can make a small amount of biodiesel in your backyard or garage. Be careful though when handling these chemicals because they can be dangerous, even fatal.
Here are some tools you need to produce biodiesel at home:

Diesel-engine vehicles are more economical than gasoline-engine vehicles because diesel has better fuel economy compared to gasoline. This means that they can cover more miles with a single tank of fuel compared to gasoline-engine types. Moreover, diesel is generally cheaper than gasoline, except in places where taxes and/or high emissions standards are imposed on diesel.
But how exactly does a diesel engine work? A diesel engine is a type of internal combustion engine that takes in air and compresses it. The compressed air is then injected with fuel. The fuel then lights up and burns because of the heat of the compressed air. Unlike gasoline engines, which usually use carburetion or port fuel injection, diesel engines use direct fuel injection. This means that diesel fuel is directly injected into the cylinder.
Direct fuel injection is one of the most vital parts of any diesel engine system. The injector is the key to the whole internal combustion process because it delivers the diesel fuel accurately while it keepings itself protected against the high temperatures and pressures in the cylinder.
